The family bathroom can be one of the most important rooms in the home. It is the place where you relax in the evening in the bath with candles and a book, a place the children can play creatively at bath time and the place which invigorates you and gets you ready for the day.
The relaxing atmosphere of a family bathroom can be greatly hindered if the grouting is stained, the bath enamel chipped and the avocado green suite being a throwback to when your gran lived there.
Perhaps it is time for a bathroom revamp.

A bathroom should be warm and inviting, and therefore one of the things you should consider up-dating first is the central heating system – whether this is just a new radiator or a heated towel rail, it can make a big difference to the feel of the smallest room in the house.
Leaks and Avocado Should be in the Kitchen
Get the plumbing checked over and ensure any leaks are dealt with. This, along with the heating, should be carried out before any cosmetic work.
If you do happen to have an avocado or blush pink bathroom suite and you are waiting for the retro scene to hit bathrooms – stop. Get rid of them and replace them with a bright white suite which will immediately brighten up the room.
Sprucing Up
A fresh coat of paint and replacement of any cracked tiles will make the room feel fresh, but if the tiles and grouting are old then consider re-tiling to really change the look of the entire room.
