Can you smell gas?

If you ever notice a gas smell, it’s really important to take quick action to stay safe.

Start by opening all the windows and doors to get fresh air flowing. Then, turn off any appliances that might be causing the leak and avoid using any electrical switches or devices that could ignite the gas.

We highly suggest calling the National Gas Emergency Service immediately at

0800 111 999

Following that reach out to CentraHeat to investigate the leak and repair any affected appliances. The gas supply will be restored once a Gas Safe registered engineer has inspected everything.

my magnetic filter is leaking

My magnetic filter is leaking.

A magnetic filter plays an important role in your central heating system by capturing debris and corrosion. Sometimes, these filters can start leaking or dripping, which can be quite a hassle.

To tackle this issue, we first need to pinpoint the cause of the leak. It could be due to a crack in the filter or a damaged seal. Once we identify the source of the problem, we can take the necessary steps to repair it. If your filter is still under warranty, you might qualify for a replacement or a free repair.

Regular maintenance is key to preventing build-ups and ensuring your magnetic filter works efficiently.

I have no heating.

Coming home to a non-functional heating system after a long day can be a real letdown, but don’t stress—we’re here to walk you through some easy checks to diagnose the problem and get your boiler up and running again.

Several issues might be causing your boiler to underperform.

A common cause of no heating is the thermostat. Initially, verify that the thermostat settings are correct and swap out any batteries that have run flat. Check that the thermostat and the adjacent receiver are operational and correctly set.

Look at the pressure gauge on your boiler to ensure it hasn’t fallen below the recommended level. Adjusting the pressure is a simple fix you can manage yourself.

Next, take a moment to inspect any error codes displayed by your boiler; these codes are key to identifying what’s wrong.

If you’ve completed these checks and still need help, contact our office to book a call-out with our gas engineer.

no heating and no hot water

I have no heating and no hot water.

It can be frustrating when your heating and hot water suddenly stop working. Before you call for a gas engineer to help, here are a few things you can check.

First, go to the boiler and ensure it has power and the pilot light is on. If the pilot light is out, try resetting the boiler according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Modern boilers often display an error code if there’s a fault, which can help identify the issue.

Next, check that the boiler hasn’t lost pressure, which can affect heating and hot water.

If these steps don’t resolve the problem, it’s time to call us to investigate further.

I don't understand my thermostat control.

If your thermostat isn’t responding, we recommend starting with the user manual. It should have detailed instructions on usage and troubleshooting.

First, check the batteries. If the thermostat isn’t responding, the batteries might be dead. Look in the battery compartment and replace them if needed.

If you’ve followed these steps and your thermostat still isn’t working, our engineer can diagnose and fix the issue promptly.
